Our Preschool
Established in 1968 Yenda Preschool has been providing quality care and education for thousands of young children from Yenda and surrounding areas. This is delivered in a safe, stimulative, supportive environment, where children feel a sense of ‘Belonging, Being, Becoming.’
We believe play is the best platform for learning. Play provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, improvise and imagine. Educators use children’s strengths, interests and needs to implement a range of play based activities and incorporate these into the educational program.
We wish to encourage integration of children with additional needs, and encourage acceptance and integration of children from all cultures, to be sensitive to the rights, needs and cultures of all, and be given the opportunity to contribute freely.
Yenda Preschool Kindergarten is an independently run, non for profit, community-based Preschool for children between the ages of three and five years, with funding coming from fees, government subsidy and fundraising.
Yenda Preschool Kindergarten is conveniently located at 2 Bingar Street Yenda NSW with a large carpark at the front of the building, with disability access as well as street parking available surrounding our preschool.
Play Based Education
We aim to provide a play-based program that supports the individual needs of all children in becoming competent and confident learners – as it is through play that children explore and discover, try out and assimilate ideas, express feelings, experiment with social relationships, develop skills, and acquire a wide range of language.
We wish to achieve a strong sense of community, belonging and pride with children, staff and families. We also aim to develop an atmosphere in which parents feel welcome, and are freely able to involve themselves in our preschool program.
We believe that the best way to work with you and your child is by building a partnership of education and care.
To do this, we want you to feel:
- welcomed, recognised, acknowledged and respected by all our educators
- that your child is really known by, and really knows, the people who educate and care for him or her
- you are given lots of information about what is occurring and are asked for your views
- you are involved in making decisions about your child’s experiences
- you and your child are received and greeted upon arrival
- your child is happy, secure and engaged
- your child is not just looked after, but really educated and cared for
