Committee of Management

The management of the preschool is governed by a Management Committee comprising of elective representative of parents that is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in March each year. The committee plays a key role in ensuring our organisation fulfils its goal of delivering high quality early childhood education to the community.

The Committee comprises of the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Public Officer
  • Working Bee Co-ordinator / Ordinary Member
  • Fundraising Co-ordinator / Ordinary Member

Brief description of committee

As a committee member, you will be involved in:

  • Determining the service’s mission and purpose.
  • Appointing and monitoring the performance of the Director, the Nominated Supervisor, the Responsible Person (they may be the same person).
  • Using any information gained through the position of the board appropriately and confidentially and ensuring it is in the best interest of the preschool.
  • Overseeing and monitoring financial planning and reporting.
  • Staffing and employment matters.
  • Complying with legal, industrial and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and monitoring plans, strategies and policies.
  • Enhancing the profile of the service in the community.
  • Recruiting and orienting new committee/board members.
  • Collaborating with the Director as the “expert in the field”.
  • Attending governance training organised by the Director.
